| Paul Conkling, O.D. | Bio |
|---|
| Dr. Paul Conkling has been practicing therapeutic optometry for over 20 years in the Denver area. His private practice, for more than ten years with Spivack Vision Center, flourished into a unique relationship that recently formed Family Eye Clinic. While Dr Spivack continues to lead in Refractive Surgery, Dr Conkling is joined by Dr Shoener and Dr Peterson to offer complete primary eyecare and all non-surgical services to patients of all ages. Taking over the clinical portion of the Spivack practice has allowed Dr Conkling to better expand into his areas of individual specialties, which include the treatment of Dry Eye Syndrome, Advanced Ocular Therapy, Glaucoma, Iritis, as well as difficult Contact Lens Fittings, including for Keratoconus.ÊHe has also helped many patients to be free of glasses or contacts lenses, during the day, with corneal re-shaping contact lenses that work on the same principal as Lasik surgery. Dr Conkling earned his Bachelors Degree at Eastern New Mexico University in 1978, and graduated, as president of his senior class, from the prestigious Pacific University College of Optometry in 1983. He has co-managed over 10,000 refractive surgery cases with Dr Spivack. He is actively involved with the American Optometric Association, received recognition for 25 years of service from the Colorado Optometric Association, including serving as a past president, and is currently on their Board of Trustees. "Dr 14'er" is his nickname since he attained all 54 of Colorado's mountain peaks over 14,000 feet. He enjoys playing guitar, building furniture, and, most of all, spending time with his wife and adorable five-year old, Anna. |
